The next Star Trek movie has a new director. As reported by Deadline, WandaVision director Matt Shakman will helm the latest film in the long-running sci-fi series. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

Shakman directed all nine episodes of WandaVision, the acclaimed Marvel show which hit Disney+ earlier this year. His extensive TV credits also include episodes of The Boys, Succession, Game of Thrones, Fargo, Mad Men, Six Feet Under, and The Good Wife.

The next Star Trek movie is currently scheduled for a June 2023 release, with JJ Abrams producing once more. It’s currently unknown if this film will be connected to the previous movies or will be something entirely new.

The last film was 2016’s Star Trek Beyond, which was the third film in Abrams’ reboot series. A fourth reboot movie was announced, but Paramount pulled the plug on it in 2019, while Quentin Tarantino, S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones), and Noah Hawley (Fargo) have all been attached to other potential Star Trek movies in recent years.

As for Star Trek on the small screen, Star Trek Discovery Season 4 is set to premiere later this year, with Picard Season 2 due in 2022. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, featuring Anson Mount as Christopher Pike, will finish production on its first season this month.
